DARK PLACES BY GILLIAN FLYNN

I highly recommend every person to read this terrific novel by Gillian Flynn. “I was not a lovable child, and I'd grown into a deeply unlovable adult. Draw a picture of my soul, and it'd be a scribble with fangs.” Okay I have a habit of making assumptions about what will happen at the end and usually note it down somewhere, so that I don’t forget the points. Usually I can easily predict the ending. But with Gillian Flynn, I am always defeated and left off guard. I even tried to predict Sharp Objects' ending and I was bolted from the blue. I mean seriously! What goes on in her head? She writes about horrible people doing horrible things. From the starting of the story she kept me hooked till the very end. I really loved the characterization and her writing style. It has a unique touch to it, which every author aspires for. The story starts with a girl named Libby who survived a horrendous massacre when she was only seven and her mother Patty and two sis

Even though I LOVE this book, it is my least favorite of the series.  NO, I do not hate this book, its just that this series just keeps getting better and better! In this book Percy is now 13, t he story starts off in New York with Percy back living with his mother, getting ready to finish school and return to Camp Half Blood. He has also befriended an unusual friend named Tyson who goes to the same school as him. Meanwhile  Percy's strange dreams tell him something's wrong at Half-blood Hill and the monster attack (also the dodge ball game!) at his school's gym proves it. While fighting the monsters, Annabeth comes to their rescue and Percy blows up his school (AGAIN), and he escapes with Tyson and Annabeth. Annabeth seems to have some bad-blood with Tyson and is seen giving him the stink eye. When they reach camp, there’s already a lot of trouble going on there and Percy and Tyson have to fight off a giant metal bull. We come to k

PERCY JACKSON & THE LIGHTNING THEIF

Arrrghhhh... PERCY JACKSON!!! Okay. I've had this book since a really long time, but never read it because? I seriously can't remember the reason anymore. I cannot believe I've waited this looooong to get to this book, because this book is everything! So to start, the best thing I like about this series is that it's set in the 21st century, so it's relatable (well not in a demigod-ish camp-halfblood way). The character development is amazing, and so is the friendship development. Also the way this story just molds with Greek Mythology and has so much greek elements to it is just so fascinating. All those Greek Gods and stuff! This book is about a boy named Percy Jackson who has special needs. He is dyslexic and has ADHD (but there's a reason for that). His father is Poseidon –YEAH THAT'S RIGHT!! THE FRIGGING GOD OF THE  SEA (how cool is that?).  So he's dyslexic because his brain is 'hard-wired' to read ancient Greek and ADHD is jus
