Trilogies I want to read in 2017- PART 1

Trilogies I want to read in 2017

We all set reading goals at the beginning of the year, and like everyone, I set to read 35 books in 2017. I know this goal is easy as pie, but I don't want to burden myself and read as many books as I possibly can. So my friend and I decided to make a list of the Trilogies we want to read in 2017. Also, these are the that trilogies we haven't started reading (not even the first book) and want to dive into them as soon as we can. This blog will be in two parts: I (Anushka) would write the first part, and Yashvi will write the second part.

Okay, I have five trilogies that I eagerly want to read, and most of them are fantasy. Without any further ado, here's the list:

1. Anna and the French Kiss by  Stephanie Perkins

In this, we have first book Anna and the French Kiss; the second book is Lola and the Boy Next Door and lastly Isla and the Happily Ever After.  These are the contemporary young adult genre, and I want to read this book for so long. Now finally I have decided to pick it up.

Here is the Goodreads blurb of the first book:

Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris--until she meets Étienne St. Clair. Smart, charming, beautiful, Étienne has it all...including a serious girlfriend.

But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?

2. His Fair Assassin by Robin LaFevers

The trilogy has (in particular order) Grave Mercy, Dark Triumph, and Mortal Heart. It is the fantasy and historical fiction trilogy. I have the first book (Grave Mercy) with me for so long, and now I'm going to start it sooner.

Here is the Goodreads blurb of the first book:

Seventeen-year-old Ismae escapes from the brutality of an arranged marriage into the sanctuary of the convent of St. Mortain, where the sisters still serve the gods of old. Here she learns that the god of Death Himself has blessed her with dangerous gifts—and a violent destiny. If she chooses to stay at the convent, she will be trained as an assassin and serve as a handmaiden to Death. To claim her new life, she must destroy the lives of others.

Ismae’s most important assignment takes her straight into the high court of Brittany—where she finds herself woefully under prepared—not only for the deadly games of intrigue and treason, but for the impossible choices she must make. For how can she deliver Death’s vengeance upon a target who, against her will, has stolen her heart?

3. The Winner's Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski

This trilogy consists of The Winner's Curse, The Winner Crime, and The Winners Kiss. This is again the Fantasy YA books. I just love reading Fantasy books.

Here is the Goodreads blurb of the first book:

As a general’s daughter in a vast empire that revels in war and enslaves those it conquers, seventeen-year-old Kestrel has two choices: she can join the military or get married. But Kestrel has other intentions.

One day, she is startled to find a kindred spirit in a young slave up for auction. Arin’s eyes seem to defy everything and everyone. Following her instinct, Kestrel buys him—with unexpected consequences. It’s not long before she has to hide her growing love for Arin.
But he, too, has a secret, and Kestrel quickly learns that the price she paid for a fellow human is much higher than she ever could have imagined.
Set in a richly imagined new world, The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski is a story of deadly games where everything is at stake, and the gamble is whether you will keep your head or lose your heart.

4. The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo

This Trilogy has books named Shadow and Bone, Siege and Storm and lastly Ruin and Rising. Fantasy??? Say no more, my friend.

Here is the Goodreads blurb of the first book:

Surrounded by enemies, the once-great nation of Ravka has been torn in two by the Shadow Fold, a swath of near impenetrable darkness crawling with monsters who feast on human flesh. Now its fate may rest on the shoulders of one lonely refugee.

Alina Starkov has never been good at anything. But when her regiment is attacked on the Fold, and her best friend is brutally injured, Alina reveals a dormant power that saves his life—a power that could be the key to setting her war-ravaged country free. Wrenched from everything she knows, Alina is whisked away to the royal court to be trained as a member of the Grisha, the magical elite led by the mysterious Darkling.
Yet nothing in this lavish world is what it seems. With darkness looming and an entire kingdom depending on her untamed power, Alina will have to confront the secrets of the Grisha . . . and the secrets of her heart.

5. The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare

The Series consist of Clockwork Angles, Clockwork Prince and Clockwork Princess. This is again the fantasy trilogy, and Cassandra Clare's books have always been overwhelming. I really can't wait to read it.

Here is the Goodreads blurb of the first book:

In a time when Shadowhunters are barely winning the fight against the forces of darkness, one battle will change the course of history forever. Welcome to the Infernal Devices trilogy, a stunning and dangerous prequel to the New York Times bestselling Mortal Instruments series.

The year is 1878. Tessa Gray descends into London’s dark supernatural underworld in search of her missing brother. She soon discovers that her only allies are the demon-slaying Shadowhunters—including Will and Jem, the mysterious boys she is attracted to. Soon they find themselves up against the Pandemonium Club, a secret organization of vampires, demons, warlocks, and humans. Equipped with a magical army of unstoppable clockwork creatures, the Club is out to rule the British Empire, and only Tessa and her allies can stop them.

These are the trilogies that I want to read this year. However it is highly probable that I'll read some more trilogies or omit one of these (which I really don't want to). I hope I'll be able to read all these beauties.
