BOOK REVIEW: RESURRECTING SUNSHINE

Image
Blurb (Goodreads):  At seventeen, Adam Rhodes is famous, living on his own, and in a downward spiral since he lost the girl he loved. Marybeth stage name Sunshine was his best friend from the days they were foster kids; then she was his girlfriend and his band mate. But since her accidental death, he's been drinking to deal with the memories. Until one day, an unexpected visitor, Dr. Elloran, presents Adam with a proposition that just might save him from himself.  ( I decided not to use the whole synopsis because that explains everything that's going on in this story) Publication Date: October 1st, 2016. Thoughts: Okay, so this book is not about a typical rockstar who loses his famous girlfriend, is tremendously heartbroken, and drinks himself to oblivion (it is though), but it is so much more than that. We follow Adam, who lost his girlfriend Marybeth to the ocean, one year after the tragedy had happened. To cope up with his loss, he drank too much and loses hi

ME BEFORE YOU BY JOJO MOYES

Blurb:   Lou Clark knows lots of things. She knows how many footsteps there are between the bus stop and home. She knows she likes working in The Buttered Bun tea shop and she knows she might not love her boyfriend Patrick. What Lou doesn't know is she's about to lose her job or that knowing what's coming is what keeps her sane. Will Traynor knows his motorcycle accident took away his desire to live. He knows everything feels very small and rather joyless now and he knows exactly how he's going to put a stop to that. What Will doesn't know is that Lou is about to burst into his world in a riot of colour. And neither of them knows they're going to change the other for all time. I hesitated first to read this book because romance genre is not my cup of tea.  Romance genre seem to be always average for me.  I tried to read some books to change my perception but only disappointment comes in. So, I convinced myself to read this book and I was

JULY TBR

Image
June was indeed a great month for me to be at home and read as many books as I can. I don't usually plan what I'm going to read next, but there are some books that caught my attention and I am looking forward to read these. I have a pretty hectic schedule this month, but I always have time for my books.  My July TBR starts with 1. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas I've heard very good reviews of the books written by Sarah J. Maas, and her splendid writing style. So, I thought of giving it a shot. This is going to be my first book from this author and I'm eager to see how it goes. 2. A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas This is the second book of the series, and I'm really looking forward to read it.  3. After You by Jojo Moyes  I just finished reading Me Before You and I loved it. I found out that it has a sequel and I could not stop myself and ordered this book from Amazon immediately after reading the prequel.

JUNE WRAP UP- 3

[CONTD.] The Mortal Instruments- City of Ashes (Cassandra Clare) Love and power are the deadliest temptations.  Haunted by her past, Clary is dragged  deeper into New York City's  terrifying  underworld of demons and Shadowhunters -  but can  she control her feelings for a boy who can never be hers? Thoughts:  The tension in the book is so great that you feel like the characters are literally going to break from the strain. Clary's mother is still in a coma and her relationships with Simon and Jace are fragile.  It's ever changing who is my favorite. I'll be thinking  Isabelle is my favorite wait...no Max he's really cute but....Luke is great...then again Simon is just so painfully loyal  , so I still don't have a clear favorite. I think it's because each and everyone of the characters have their own great scenes, so it's close to impossible to choose.  Jace is growing on me and Valentine is definitely getting more evil. One th

[CONTD.] Percy Jackson and the Olympians- The Titan's Curse (Rick Riordan)   It's not every day you find  yourself in combat with  a Half- Lion, Half- Human. But when you're the son of a Greek god, it happens. And now my friend Annabeth is missing, a goddess is in chains and only five half-blood heroes can join the  quest to defeat the doomsday monster. Oh, and guess what. The oracle has predicted  that not all of us will survive... Thoughts:   Oh god. These books just keep getting better. By the end of The Sea of Monsters, I sold my soul to Percy Jackson and I got so committed to the story that I decided to ditch every other book that I was reading and continued to complete the series. I read this book in a day or two. Did I tell you that I love Percy? No? I DO, with all my heart!!! Anyway, we get new characters in this book, and like the other books in the series, it is full of action! Out of all the books, I liked the prophecy in t
