The story starts with a 16-year-old girl (baby), who was brutally raped by a spoilt son (Maheep) of a powerful man (Maninder Singh), who worked for corrupt politician and criminals. Baby was a daughter of a maidservant who worked at the house of Diwan's family.  Vansh Diwan, a top-shot criminal lawyer, is now in a dilemma to either save Baby and bring her justice or help his biggest client Maninder Singh to effortlessly get away with it.  His wife, Priti Diwan is a woman with principles and could do anything to bring the accused behind bars. Priti is disappointed and devasted by her husband's act. So, she decided to involve their college friend into the picture- Akash Hingorani.

Akash Hingorani is an eminent criminal lawyer, the only hope that Baby has, but soon after his involvement, the rape case was turned into a murder mystery. The story moves around from crime investigation to courtroom drama.

"Justice? You get justice in the next world. In this one, you have the law."

Review:

What I liked about the book is from the first page, I was into it.  I don't read many crime fiction books, but this is a pick for those who love reading thriller and courtroom drama. The character's description and their past story in this book are to the point and not overemphasized. The author has done justice to all the characters, and the plot was very good. Though I anticipated the ending of the book, which is why I was disappointed in the end.

What I appreciate is the use of legal jargon which is very understandable, and at some points, the author tried to explain the law in a simple language. The writing style was gripping and fast-paced. Though I was dumbfounded in some parts and just keep on figuring out 'how did that happen?'

I overall really liked the book and would recommend to everyone. The writing style was astounding and easy read.
