Snapshot :

Kaash Kashmir is written in a form of a play. The story put its emphasis on the neglected issue about the Kashmiri Pandits leaving their land in 1990. The play is about two best friends; Kashmiri Pandit boy named 'Rohan' and a Muslim girl named 'Ayesha'. They both lived in the beautiful valley of Kashmir with their family and they both were neighbours for many years. The story drastically shifted and moved towards a scene where a bunch of Pakistanis and some Kashmiri Muslims were planning to remove all the Kashmiri Pandits from the valley. In the year 1990, there was an uproar and all the pandits were threatened to leave the Kashmir or else they would be killed. Seeing that, the Rohan's family (The Pandits) left the valley and started living in the refugee camp and later in Delhi.

The story swiftly changes its set and we see that after ten years the pandits were living in Delhi and Rohan has become a Major in the Indian Army.  Everything was moving smoothly until Rohan received his posting in Srinagar. Will he be able to meet Ayesha- the love of his life? Will she recognize him? Whether the situation in Kashmir has become better?

Review:

I liked reading the plays and this play is informative, short and easy to read.  This play narrates the exodus of pandits in the year 1990 from their homeland Kashmir. The author has tried to provide all the credible information from the reliable sources, which makes the play more interesting and informative to read. The author has also provided the links to ensure the credibility of the statements.

However, I noticed that the play is written from an Indian Point of view and there exists a possibility that some people might get offended by some statements that are mentioned in the play.

Writing style:

The writing style is easy to read and fast-paced. Though, I find it difficult to connect with the protagonist and other characters in the play. I also felt that the storytelling was a bit off guard. But, being a fast-paced book, I was able to complete it in a couple of hours.

In the end, I would like to say that this book provides a surpassing insight into what is currently happening in Kashmir and how serious the situation is out there. For years, the events happening in Kashmir is a serious topic and this book brings it in the spotlight.
