Goodreads Summer Reading Challenge hosted by The Wordaholics

Hey everyone! It's been a long time since we've been here writing a post for you, but what better way to make a come back than hosting a Summer Reading Challenge for all of you!
First of all, we want to make it very clear that this Summer Reading Challenge is mainly curated by Goodreads for you and we're just hosting it on our blog so that we can enjoy it along with you all. All in all, we're really excited to be doing this and hope your excitement level is as high as ours!

Second of all, we want you all to enjoy doing this challenge with us. Doing this challenge may help you out of your reading slumps (if you are in one), or get you back on track to your reading habits, or even help you in re-visiting your long-lost or almost-forgotten books. This challenge will surely make you go digging through your shelves looking for that perfect book for the week's topic! It's a perfect opportunity to reconnect with those books you haven't seen in a while. Also, it'll give you an amazing excuse to start gushing about your most beloved (or most hated) characters, settings, etc, and you'll have a cool and great audience to share in your enthusiasm!

We are hosting this challenge for everyone to indulge in their love for reading, but if in any way you feel pressurized or it isn't fun for you, then there is no pressure on you to continue since it is all about love for reading and it shouldn't be hectic for anyone.

Now, to make this challenge super easy for all of you, here are some guidelines on how to do this Goodreads Summer Reading Challenge (and of course we've added our own twists to make it more interesting!)

  • The Beginners part of the challenge is mandatory for all participants, whereas the Expert Level is optional and those who are interested in doing it can continue doing it after the Beginners part is over (and we'll obviously accompany you in doing both the parts.)
  • The Beginners part of the challenge will be 12 weeks long. (Hence the Summer Reading Challenge!!)
  • We'll have the challenges on a weekly basis, that is, to complete each part of the challenge you'll get a week. Discussions will be held every week on Saturdays.
  • The Topic for the week will be announced on every Sundays in our Instagram account and you'll get the entire week to read a book related to that particular topic, and upload a picture of the related book on your Instagram accounts latest by Saturdays every week (which is mandatory).
  • While uploading the book you can write a mini-review of it and also tell us about your experience while reading the book. Also, use the hashtags #thewordaholics #goodreadssummerreadingchallenge and tag us @the_wordaholics and @goodreads and also mention the week of the challenge for example if it is week 2 the use #week2 in every picture that you upload for the challenge, so that we know what book you've read for the week!
  • We will on a weekly basis feature a post from any one of you in our account and give all of you a shoutout in our stories.
For any further information or queries, feel free to text or DM us! Hope you all have lots of fun while doing this challenge. Happy Summers and Happy Reading!

Regards
Yashvi & Anushka
